Rick Bangerter

Rick Bangerter is now a 45-year resident and business owner in Centerville. Born in Davis County and with lifelong ties and connections to small town Centerville, Rick has deep appreciation and love for the citizens, businesses, associations, and activities this community has provided to his family. He and his wife, Sheryl, along with their 5 children, are proud to be part of their remarkable 'village' and are all happy to be 'Centervillites'.

Rick graduated as a valedictorian at local Viewmont High School in 1970. He has both a B.A. and a master's degree in medical social work from the University of Utah. His career initially included several years as a Pediatric Medical Social Worker at University Hospital counseling terminally ill children and their families. A licensed General Contractor, Rick founded, owned and operated Rick Bangerter Roofing Inc in Centerville for over 35 years. His company has served hundreds of Centerville homeowners and employed many dozens of Centerville residents. Prior to his retirement in 2018, Rick worked full time for 11 years as the local Facility Manager for 57 properties/meetinghouses owned by the LOS Church, including all 14 within Centerville City.

Rick's volunteer service includes extensive Boy Scouting roles, several LDS Church missions outside the country (including as a young missionary in Brazil, 3 years as a Mission President in Brazil, and as a senior couple in Portugal), and as a volunteer for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Rick previously served 4 years on the Centerville City Council (1998-2002) and has been both a County and State Republican Party Delegate. Rick is hopeful to ensure open, accessible city government and balanced representation. He aims to strengthen collaboration between local businesses, citizens, and the City. He is committed to reflecting the values of Centerville's conservative community. Rick is dedicated to informed decision-making, decisiveness, prudence, and increasing transparency while encouraging citizen involvement in local governance.
