Building and Renovating

The Building and Renovating Division is responsible for administering Centerville City’s construction and building regulations to ensure that all projects meet adopted safety, structural, and code standards. The division reviews and processes applications for residential and commercial building permits, tenant finishes, structural alterations, grading permits, solar panel installations, retaining walls, accessory buildings, decks, garages, basements, pools, and other similar improvements.

Staff coordinates closely with the City’s contracted Building Official, Jon Hansen, Sunrise Engineering, and City Engineer, Kevin Campbell, ESI Engineering, to verify compliance with applicable building codes, site grading, and engineering requirements.
